Georgetown is the county seat of Williamson County, and as such, is home to many of the municipal employees and their families. The town boasts having the “Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas” and hosts multiple festivals throughout the year. It is also home to Southwestern University, the oldest university in the state, and Sun City, a retirement community of over 8,000 homes. Holt Caterpillar is building their new flagship showroom by 2018. A towered municipal airport and 8,000 sq ft biotech incubator provide a strong draw for life science startups. The town is also developing Garey Park, a 525 acre public park that will include a retreat center, equestrian facility, and concert venue. When completed, it will be 1.5 times the size of Zilker Park in Austin which hosts events like Austin City Limits.
